You wake up, take your vitamins, put on your Levis jeans and lipstick. Then you turn on the television with your remote and watch a videotape. You use a ball point pen, drive your Corvette and take pictures with your Polaroid. Throughout the day, you use your cell phone, get instant messages. leave voice mails. stop at traffic lights and use a shopping cart.

What do all these things have in common? They were all created by Jewish inventors. As in other areas in which they have excelled, the number of inventions by Jews is huge compared to the size of their population. From transistor to atom bomb, the number of groundbreaking concepts is staggering. The list includes Valium, the birth control pill, the electron microscope, the defibrolator, kidney dialysis machine, the laser beam, Lionel trains, Barbie doll, Duracell battery, the fax machine, the adding machine, the infant incubator, electron microscope, Digitalis, Insulin, Streptomycin and Polio Vaccine.

This lecture surveys and celebrates Jewish inventions and contains many photos and items of interest.
