Could Columbus have been a Jew ? The jury is still out. But there is no question as to the Jewish influence that surrounded his life. He received help from the high treasurer of the Kingdom of Aragon and the chancellor of the royal household of Aragon, both Jewish conversos. Another Jew, Luis Santangel, was responsible for introducing Columbus to Queen Isabella.

He also advanced Columbus 5 million maravedis to finance his expedition. Of the 88 men who accompanied Columbus, many were conversos. Was his voyage a converso conspiracy to find new lands for the persecuted Jews?

Another Jew hidden by history was Haym Salomon. When word of the fighting at Lexington and Concord reached New York, this Jewish American, who had become very successful in business, started handling transactions for the new American Congress. He made numerous personal loans to members of our fledging government which were never repaid.

This lecture explores the contributions of world Jews behind the scenes of history. It contains photos, paintings, and many other items of interest.
