Jewish women have had important roles in our history, devoting themselves to Judaism and the perpetuation of the Jewish people. From the matriarchs to Gold Meir the list is impressive. Deborah was a great prophetess who served as a Judge of the Jewish people.
She mobilized a huge army to defeat our enemies. In 1912 Henrietta Sald founded Hadassah organization and established the first Hebrew school for nurses. Emma Goldman (pictured at left) led early feminist movements. Gloria Steinem became a leader of the women's liberation movement in the 1960s and 1970s campaigning for the Equal Rights Amendment. This lecture gives insight into their contributions and includes great photos and other items of interest.
